Data Protection Policy

Peaky Games holds personal data as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to facilitate the administration of Peaky Games writing weekends and the publication of its games. The following policy follows the guidelines set out by the Information Commissioner's Office.

Data Minimisation

The minimum personal data will be collected by Peaky Games to enable to administration of Peaky Games and the Peaky Games writing weekends. This will consist of personal name and email address, and any medical information which has been provided by the individual to the organisers. (As of 19 April 2018, any additional data which had been kept e.g. address and telephone number has been deleted from the records.)

Data Processing and Data Security

Peaky Games will process all data in accordance with the principles of GDPR and the Data Protection Acts of 1998 and 2018. In particular, personal data will only be retained with the explicit consent of the Member and will be kept securely (password protected as a minimum) by the relevant Committee member or delegated person.

Data Retention

Personal data will be kept by Peaky Games for members and past members as allowed by the legislation, and this retention will be reviewed by the Committee every 5 years. Records of authorship of unpublished games will be kept permanently.

Right to be Forgotten

In the event that an individual exercises their 'right to be forgotten' as described by the legislation, Peaky Games will remove all personal data held about that individual, including authorship of unpublished games. Individuals exercising their right to be forgotten should note that doing so means they will not be credited for authorship of a Peaky game that is published after the date when they exercise that right.
